FAQ
Is this technology safe?
The Real Time Ultrasound scan of your pelvic floor is a safe procedure. Discreetly Fit uses the same equipment as doctors. It involves no radiation as sound waves are utilised.
How is it done?
The scan is non-invasive as the scanner is placed on your abdominal wall as you are lying down on your back with your knees bent. A small amount of gel will be applied to the scanner. You won’t need to remove any items of clothing. We’ll just need a small window of skin on your lower abdominal area to place the transducer on. Following instructions, you will be asked to perform a pelvic floor contraction to see your muscles work on the ultrasound’s screen.
How long does it take?
Depending on individual factors, the scans usually take 2-5 minutes each.
Will others be watching me?
No, others will not be watching. During the scan your privacy is respected as only you and your program facilitator can see the screen of the ultrasound, while the rest of the group is enjoying a cup of warm drink and cookies.
Can I catch anything from the scanner?
We take precautions to prevent the spread of any sort of infection. We disinfect the scanner between participants and practice optimal hand hygiene. The scanner is also washed with a cleaning solution after each course.
Can I opt out?
Of course, you can. We can absolutely make sure in other ways that you’re on the right track of learning our exercises without having the ultrasound scan.
